Update: See the Official Meetup Tour page for a complete schedule.
What’s the Point? What Are the Details?
Why: So, why have a National Meetup Tour? Great question—we’re glad you asked. First, we want to get out there and interact with you face-to-face, share ideas, get ideas, talk about minimalism, talk about silly things, and have a great time with you. Second, we want to celebrate an outstanding first year for The Minimalists, including some incredible milestones like 100,000 monthly readers, our first essay collection, Joshua’s first fiction book, and our first non-fiction book. But, mostly, we just want to meet you. This is likely the only time we’ll do this kind of a tour—so come out and see us if you get the chance.
What: We’re going to visit approximately 33 cities all over the US and Canada in 2011 and 2012 to meet a lot of great, like-minded people (although non-like-minded people are welcome). We won’t bring anything for you to buy (although Ryan will bring his Sharpie if anyone wants him to sign their Kindle), we just want meet some outstanding people who believe in our message of living a meaningful life with less stuff.
When & Where: There will be five legs of the tour, starting in November 2011 and continuing throughout 2012. See the official Meetup Tour page for scheduling.
Cost: No money. Just your time.
Dress code: Casual dress, obviously (although Ryan might where a tuxedo—or maybe one of those tuxedo teeshirts).
Volunteers: We’re looking for a person from each city to be a Meetup Leader and help coordinate a meetup location. Volunteers will be bathed in praise, accolades, and hand sanitizer (the latter of which is optional).
Cities: See the Official Meetup Tour page for a complete schedule.
