Ryan didn’t unpack anything today.

That’s worth repeating.

Today.\
 Ryan.\
 Didn’t.\
 Unpack.\
 Anything.

Not a thing.

In ten days, Ryan discovered every*thing* he needs.

Everything.

How often do you say you*need* something? I *need *a new pair of shoes; I *need* to run to the store to pick up that new widget; oh my god, I *need *mo’ money!

I need,\
 I need.\
 I need!

Perhaps we *need* to choose our words more carefully.

Yes, there are times when we actually *need* something: Sometimes we really do need  a new pair of shoes, a new winter coat, or a triple-tall soy latte (probably not). We obviously need food, water, housing, and clothes. And, to live a fulfilling life, we need our [health](https://theminimalists.com/vehicle), our [relationships](https://www.theminimalists.com/values/), our [sanity](https://theminimalists.com/dan).

But, of course, there are many things we do not need: the majority of things we think we *need*, are only things we *want—*often we don’t *need* them at all.

The truth is you already have everything you *need*.\
Look around—you’ll never need more than this.
