Exciting announcement! The Minimalists are hiring three interns for our new podcast studio in Hollywood. All three internships are paid positions. The roles and responsibilities are listed below.
If you’re interested in applying, email a short smartphone video to interns@theminimalists.com. In that video, talk about why you’d be a great fit for the position. Please keep it two minutes or less. Deadline to submit is 5 PM PDT on June 23, 2021. We will select ten people for full-length interviews by the end of the month.
Applicants must live in—or be willing to relocate to—Los Angeles County. You must also be friendly, organized, willing to learn, timely, and honest. Once hired, you must be available 1–3 days per week (typically for four-hour shifts), and your availability must be flexible.
General Office Intern
- Help The Minimalists Podcast run smoothly
- Attend podcast recording sessions and production meetings
- Greet and accommodate podcast guests
- Collect podcast notes and timestamps during recordings
- Proofread show notes and writings
- Pick up supplies for podcast studio
- Screen calls for podcast episodes
- Participate in studio/equipment organizing and cleanup
- Prepare coffee, tea, and water for podcast recordings
- Interact with fans of The Minimalists when prompted
- Assist with event planning and live podcasts
- Retrieve mail and packages for the office
- Do handiwork around the office and studio
- Engage in other miscellaneous tasks as requested
Audio/Video Intern
- Aid engineer and videographer on a variety of recording tasks
- Help shape our podcast’s overall visual aesthetic
- Take behind-the-scenes photos for our podcast and social media
- Attend podcast recording sessions and production meetings
- Back up digital files after recording sessions
- Assist with editing of audio and video when needed
- Engage in other miscellaneous tasks as requested
- Required experience: at least some video, photo, audio
- Optional experience: graphic design, social media expertise
Graphic Design Intern
- Create designs that help authentically promote our podcast
- Assist social media manager with design and typeface strategy
- Attend production meetings whenever necessary
- Engage in other miscellaneous tasks as requested
- Required experience: graphic design, typeface design
- Optional experience: photography, videography, audio recording, social media expertise
