Every spring is a rebirth of sorts,
a natural time to let go, start anew.
This is doubly true during a pandemic.
Smell the flowers through your facemask.
Let go of excess while holding on to your sanity.
This week, Ryan told me about some of
the things he has decluttered this year:
Christmas lights, three shirts, an inversion table.
Yes, even as the minimalists, we’re still letting go.
Today, I tossed some ill-fitting shorts in my donation bag.
Last week, a jacket, a pair of pants, two potted plants.
Last month, a few kitchen utensils that didn’t adhere to my rules.
